Well, I have to write about my ideal job. I don’t want to work in an office with many tasks and many hours to work. I think is very awful and stressful. Furthermore I love the nature, the wild world and the natural landscape. I want to work in wild animal refuge, to preserve the national fauna in our country. I think is very important, because many animals that live in Chile are endemic and is own work, as future veterinarian preserve this. Many animals in our country are in danger of extinction. Preserving this is not only important for what I said previously, but also for tourism of the region when develop this endemics animals, generating higher income for our country.
I want to work in the national park, in the CONAF refuge. I think that is a very interesting area for vets. This institution is concerned for wild animals, for health, persevere, conservation, etc. Specifically, in the investigation area, because I think very important investigate the reason of the conservation problems, from the point of view, biological, behavior, physiological, ecological and many other sciences, for explain this problem. Then, solve problems with each of these animals. Also I want working in rehabilitation the wild animals, reintegrating into their natural habitat.
About the boss, I think it should be friendly to their workers, and to work as workers, and my colleagues that are also. This work also is hard, with many hours to work, but is very interesting and funny, but is less stressing that anything other, I believe, because this job developing in natural environment.

Well, my favorite subject in the University is Animal Behavior. This subject treats about of the most important behavior in the animals, such wild and domestics animals. It’s a very funny and interesting subject. The professor of this subject is Rigoberto Solís. This science explains the animal behavior in the biological point of view.
In the first point, I like this subject because the animal behavior is very important for own career, because we need work with domestic’s animals, and is the great utility to diagnostic any disease or handle animals.
Secondly, I consider that is very important for understand our animals, for have greater care with them. Additionally, this subject helps us to understand the wildlife of animals, and the wonderful animal world and the communication of the pets.
The behavior of animals it’s no free. This is explained for the many sciences, such as, biology, endocrinology, neuroscience, evolution, for example. There are many behaviors such as, the infanticide; this is developing in social animals, such the lion that kill puppies the other another litter of dominant lion. Also the insects have behaviors, such as the bee, a very hierarchical animal.

Biography: Charles Darwin

Charles Darwin was an English naturalist. I think that he was the most important scientist in history. He was born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England on 12 February 1809. In 1805, he studied medicine in the University of Edinburgh Medical School, but He quickly deserted by the surgery's lecture. In the 27th of December, 1831, he started this travel. The voyage lasted almost five years and, as FitzRoy had intended, Darwin spent most of that time on land investigating geology and making natural history collections. He traveled around the world and spent by different places, such as, the coast of South America, Brazil, Chile, etc, and the Galapagos’s Island. He collected many species of plants and animals; he later served to develop his theory, the theory of natural selection.
When the Beagle reached Falmouth, Cornwall, on 2 October 1836, Darwin was already a celebrity in scientific circles. Later, he published his book called On the Origin of Species, and here showed his theory; theory of natural selection, caused a scientific revolution.
Finally, Charles Darwin died 19th April of 1882 in Kent, England.

Why Veterinary Medicine?

Well, Why I chose this career?
It's a difficult question. I love pets as cats and dogs. When I was child I have a dog called Arox. He was a Black German Shepherd. I played with him every day, he accompanied me everywhere with my friends and, this dog was fundamental for me. It's was a main factor to choose this career.
In other aspect, I like the field, animals and nature. I don´t like city and her life system.
I think that this career is very hard, but at the same time, is beautiful and nice. Veterinary medicine has much field work, such as, minor clinic (pets), higher clinic (horses and cattle), wildlife, animal production and health. I think that is one of the university careers that have more field work.
And why choose this university? It's the best university of Chile, especially at this career; the faculty has lots of green areas.
